OVERVIEW
OUR PROJECT
What is Host Haven Stays?
Host Haven Stays is a Seattle-based short-term rental management startup that streamlines property management for hosts through automation. The company focuses on simplifying the process of onboarding clients, managing guest communications, and maintaining properties efficiently.
I led the design team, overseeing research, ideation, and prototyping. I coordinated closely with PMs and developers to ensure design feasibility and consistency across both products.
Our team helped develop two key products:
Client-Facing Website: A public platform that showcases Host Haven Stays’ services, helping potential clients learn about the company and onboard easily.
Owner’s Portal: An internal management tool that enables property owners to track bookings, monitor performance metrics, and manage maintenance or guest communication seamlessly.

How might short-term rental owners become more informed about rental management resources so that they can optimize onboarding with our service?

PROCESS
DESIGN PROCESS
OUR 6 MONTH PROCESS FOR 2 PROJECTS
As a 10 person team we were split into 3 groups: Project Managers, Designers, and Developers.
Each team had outlined tasks they had to complete. As a 5-person design team, we began by understanding our client’s needs and business model. We conducted market research on competitors like Vacasa, Evolve, and AirConcierge to identify gaps and differentiators.
GOALS
People hold different levels of comfortability in regard to sharing and receiving information on personal pregnancy and maternal concerns, especially Postpartum Depression (PPD)
It is important to acknowledge the vast spectrum of socioeconomic, cultural, and overall environmental aspects of PPD in order to facilitate connection, whatever that may look like for any mother
PPD doesn't occur because of something a mother does or not do. The approach should not be preventative, but rather palliative
